WSR are very pleased to announce reigning Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship Jack Sears Trophy title winner Daryl De Leon as the team’s second confirmed driver for the 2026 season.
Daryl, 20, remains with the team for a second season after an impressive campaign in 2025 and will race a BMW 330i M Sport alongside Charles Rainford as part of a multi-car line-up.
The Cambridgeshire driver joined WSR for his sophomore BTCC campaign last year and made an immediate impact, taking his maiden series win at the second event of the season on the Brands Hatch Indy circuit.
He claimed two podium positions as well as scoring a first pole position at Silverstone at the year’s penultimate round and then going back-to-back with another on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit.
He also headed a WSR one-two in the Jack Sears Trophy with nine maximum scores and 21 class podiums.
The continuation of his relationship with WSR ensures he stays with the 18-time series champions, who last year broke the BTCC’s all-time record for race wins.
BTCC 2026 begins at Donington Park on April 18-19 and comprises 10 triple-header rounds at eight of the UK’s finest racetracks, culminating on the iconic Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit on October 10-11.
Daryl De Leon said: “I’m excited to continue with WSR for the 2026 British Touring Car Championship and want to thank everyone who made this possible. Racing the BMW in 2025 was an incredibly valuable and rewarding year for me in every way. Taking my first win, securing my first pole positions and winning the Jack Sears Trophy title are achievements we can all be proud of, however with the new season just around the corner the focus is now on repeating that success. I’m really happy to keep working with my engineer and crew as we continue to grow stronger together. We showed good pace during pre-season official testing at Croft, so hopefully we can carry that momentum into the season ahead.”
Dick Bennetts, Team Principal, said: “We’re very pleased to announce Daryl as part of our 2026 British Touring Car Championship line-up. Moving from a front-wheel-drive touring car to a rear-wheel-drive machine is a bigger challenge than many people realise, but Daryl did extremely well to adapt to the differences needed in driving style and was rewarded with his first win, two pole positions and the Jack Sears Trophy. With a year of experience under his belt, I’m confident that together we can move forwards and challenge for wins and podiums more consistently this coming season.”
