Back-to-back pole positions for Daryl DeLeon

4th October 2025

Tom Ingram wins season-long Goodyear Wingfoot Award

Daryl DeLeon took his second Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship pole position in as many events as the young gun produced a brilliant lap around the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit, whilst Tom Ingram claimed the season-long Goodyear Wingfoot Award.

WSR's DeLeon scored his maiden BTCC win around the Brands Hatch Indy configuration earlier in the year, and he celebrated a first pole position at Silverstone last time out, as his stature and reputation continues to rise in Britain's most competitive motorsport championship.

His main focus coming into the weekend is securing the Jack Sears Trophy – a competition for drivers without an overall podium at the start of the season – and he currently leads those standings by eight points. Now, with a second successive pole position, the 20-year-old also holds intentions of scooping overall honours tomorrow.

It had looked like NAPA Racing UK's Dan Cammish had claimed his third pole of the season, but the Ford man had to settle for second ahead of team-mate Dan Rowbottom – the pair will be scrapping for third in the overall standings on finals day.

Team VERTU duo Tom Chilton and Adam Morgan were fourth and fifth respectively, whilst local hero Jake Hill rounded out the 'Quick Six'.

Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport's Hill is bowing out of the BTCC at the end of the weekend and the reigning champion will be gunning for glory in the #1 BMW for the final time.

Title challenging duo – Ingram (Team VERTU) and Ash Sutton (NAPA Racing UK) – could only manage seventh and 11th respectively on the grid for tomorrow's opener, but the former had cause to celebrate after scooping the Goodyear Wingfoot Award.

Two pole positions and a total of eight top five qualifying results propelled the Hyundai man to the first season-long silverware of 2025.

There's a lot more to come tomorrow of course with a plethora of important trophies to be won.

Alliance Racing/Ford hold a two-point lead in the Manufacturers’/Constructors’ order over EXCELR8 Motorsport/Hyundai, whilst the same two outfits – under their NAPA Racing UK and Team VERTU names – are separated by three points in the Teams’ table.

Daniel Lloyd (Restart Racing), Mikey Doble (Motor Parts Direct with Power Maxed Racing) and Chris Smiley (Restart Racing) are covered by 13 points in the Independent Drivers’ battle while DeLeon tops WSR stablemate Charles Rainford by eight points in the race for the Jack Sears Trophy.

The big one of course will be Ingram versus Sutton – currently separated by 33 points – with the former going for a second title while the latter chases a record fifth BTCC crown.

A big crowd is expected at the famous Kent venue tomorrow for Rounds 28, 29 and 30 of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship while many more in the UK will watch the action LIVE on ITV4 from 1030.

Fans around the world can also get their BTCC fix with every race being broadcast LIVE – see the BTCC TV page for the listings in your region.
