One of first off-season announcements to take place toward the end of 2024 was that Team BRISTOL STREET MOTORS would be transforming into Team VERTU for the 2025 season.
In the very first year that the former name ran in the UK’s premier motorsport series, 2022, the EXCELR8-run squad would stand victorious with Tom Ingram winning his first BTCC title.
The partnership between the trio would see Ingram fight for the crown each season, never finishing lower than second in each of the three seasons. Not only winning with Ingram but amassing 20 victories across the spell through the likes of Dan Lloyd, Tom Chilton and Ronan Pearson.
The team's name change comes after the Vertu Motors group, to which Bristol Street Motors is part of, announced that it is to consolidate its three main retail brands together to create a network of more than 190 outlets all operating under one name; Vertu.
As the team evolves into Team VERTU, the Hyundai-driven outfit bounce off the back of its best race-winning season to date, retaining Ingram and Chilton, whilst adding the experienced pedigree of Adam Morgan to the scene.
The latest switch in the championship will see a title sponsor jump from Toyota power to BMW, with LKQ Euro Car Parts now tied to the rear-wheel-drive 330i M Sports.
West Surrey Racing will be behind the squad with Aiden Moffat already confirmed in one of the cars, whilst the second driver is yet to be announced.
One Motorsport took a sabbatical last year, but the Brackley-based squad was confirmed as holding two TBL licences for the season ahead… watch this space for the team’s plans and line-up over the coming weeks.
There are other potential name changes or team tweaks amongst the grid with each squad confirming its respective entry ahead of the official Season Launch on 15 April.
