Returning to front-wheel drive machinery for the 2022 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship, Chilton tackled a tough campaign, with a smattering of retirements throughout the year curtailing his championship charge.

The 37-year-old did however prove his strength in the Hyundai i30N, only taking the chequered flag outside of the points-paying positions on six occasions and securing eight top-ten finishes.

Brands Hatch's Season Finale weekend saw Chilton and the EXCELR8 Motorsport-run squad announce he would be sticking with the outfit for the 2023 campaign, as he hopes that consistency will boost his title tilt.
