Memories (since Super Touring era - 1991)/

2009: First win for David Bartrum's Motorbase team (rebranded Airwaves BMW), courtesy of driver Robert Collard in race 2 of the opening round.
2008: September’s finale sees Fabrizio Giovanardi crowned Champion for the second consecutive year. Incredibly, he fails to score in any of the three races but gets lucky as rival Jason Plato also suffers a nightmare day. John George escapes harm in a horrific roll on Cooper Straight that destroys his Honda Integra.
2007: Colin Turkington gives Team RAC's BMW pole position for its BTCC debut in April. Matt Neal gives Dynamics/Halfords' new Civic a victory in its debut meeting. September’s headlines are grabbed by a 12-car pile-up on the opening lap of race 1.
2006: SEAT's new Leon dominates around the short Indy circuit, winning all three opening rounds and then twice again in series' second visit later in the season. That second meeting sees Fabrizio Giovanardi achieve Vauxhall's 101st race win in the BTCC.
2005: Second meeting (on GP circuit lay-out) sees Matt Neal and his family’s Team Halfords squad become the first independents to win the championship since 1991. It is Neal’s first BTCC title since making his championship debut 15 years previously.
2003: Crowd of 58,500 attends the first of two visits as the BTCC stars alongside the CART Champ Car World Series. Second meeting results in a parc fermé feud between Yvan Muller (Vauxhall) and Anthony Reid (MG) after a collision at Druids.
2002: With the title race reaching a critical stage, Yvan Muller punts Vauxhall team-mate – and chief rival – James Thompson into retirement at Druids.
2001: Jason Plato lifts the driver’s crown in a wet season finale when Vauxhall team-mate Yvan Muller – and by now bitter enemy – stops with his car on fire
1999: Yvan Muller (Vauxhall) takes his first BTCC race win after famously passing Laurent Aiello (Nissan) and Anthony Reid (Ford) in one go into Paddock Hill Bend.
1997: The first of two visits sees the current-era BTCC broadcast live on television (on BBC1). Saturday’s activities at the second meeting are cancelled due to the funeral of Princess Diana.
1996: Roberto Ravaglia (BMW) feels the wrath of Alain Menu (Renault) post-race after the lapped Italian ‘delays’ the Swiss on the last lap, allowing BMW team-mate Jo Winkelhock to close in.
1995 : Round 18 sees Will Hoy take his first win for Renault, driving its Laguna model. Rickard Rydell (Volvo) suffers a high speed shunt and roll when his car’s throttle sticks open at Hawthorn.
1992: Red faces all round as Toyota team-mates Andy Rouse and Will Hoy infamously collide and crash out while disputing the lead exiting Westfield corner on the GP loop. Steve Soper (BMW) incredibly comes from last to third thanks to a brave last lap move on Tim Sugden (BMW) into Stirlings.
